Office hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The Village of Westfield Police Department is staffed by Acting Police Chief Corbin Meleen, School Resource Officer Joseph Villafrank, Patrolman Drew Beckerink, Patrolman Henry Williams, Patrolman Trenton Gugino, and Patrolman Collin Mower. We also have part-time officers including long time member Mike Foti. The Police Department offices include two holding cells that are located in Eason Hall on Elm Street, certified and inspected by state officials.
The New York State Police and the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department provide police protection in the Town of Westfield. The Village of Westfield Police Department will also assist in the Town if called by County Dispatch. The Town and Village of Westfield are serviced by an enhanced 911 system that provides information on the location of the caller. This system is available throughout Chautauqua County and is coordinated by the County Sheriff's Department.
The Police Department conducts educational trainings in the school system, which includes mock traffic stops, encounters with police, VT Law and Penal Law consequences, and Driving While Intoxicated education to end impaired driving before it starts. The SRO is trained to speak about subjects such as drug and alcohol issues, bullying and internet safety, and addressing community based groups onto today's issues and concerns. Other programs include a bike safety rodeo to teach bicycle rules to children.

Responsibilities
The Westfield Police Department's primary responsibility is to promote and maintain public safety and security for Village and Town of Westfield citizens and businesses and their property as prescribed by federal, state, county and local (Village & Town) laws. From parking enforcement to minimizing illegal drug use, abuse and trafficking, the Village of Westfield Police Department is here for you and your family's ultimate safety.
The Police Department works a 24 hour seven day a week shift and consists of six full time officers and part-time officers. You can't be a member of the Westfield Police Department without passing a stringent physical exam, a psychological review, drug testing, and an intensive background check.
All Officers are required to have the same basic training as the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Department, by going through the Chautauqua County Sheriff's Academy, basic training program for police officers. The Westfield Police Department maintains an important security presence at our local school with a full time School Resource Officer on hand daily throughout the school year to ultimately provide the highest level of safety and security for our children. Our ubiquitous school crossing guard is also a member of the WPD and provides an important added measure of safety at our school crossings.
The Westfield Police Department provides Community Oriented Policing with highly personalized service not typically found in larger communities or departments. Daily foot patrols including nightly door lock checks of our main business district help to minimize theft and vandalism type criminal activity in Westfield. During the warmer months, our police officers patrol on foot, especially during special events.
Another custom service provided by the Westfield Police Department is residency checks for those who winter in different states. If you own a home or property in Westfield and are not available to check it periodically, the Westfield Police Department will be happy to place your property on the list of those to be checked.
The Westfield Police Department is easily contacted. For emergencies, dial 911. For all other non- emergency inquiries or information, call our main number at (716) 326-3375. Let it ring as county dispatch will pick up and forward your call to one of our dedicated Police Officers.
