Westfield Academy and Central School (WACS)students in grades 9 through 12, must be complete a minimum of 10 community service hours each year of high school. Overall, they must have 40 hours of community service to graduate.
Over the years, we've had hundreds of WACS students achieve their community service hours by assisting with Westfield Recreation Department events and programs.

Eligible Community Service Programs
- Roller Skating: Students can help by assisting in the set-up and clean up procedures, as well as assist in the skate room and with games.
- Welch Field Programs: Students can assist us with our Welch Field summer programs by helping out on a day to day basis with games, arts & crafts, etc. or with special events such as the Carnival and the Swim Meet.
- Youth Basketball: Students can help by either coaching, officiating, or keeping score and/or time for games.
- Youth Fishing Derby: Students can help by assisting the participants as they fish as well as help with set-up and clean-up.
- Youth Soccer: Students can help by either coaching, officiating or keeping time for games.
